Puca's SMS 'Message Manager' helps reduce costs and streamline business communications

Permanent TSB, UPC, Dept of Defence and Ireland's Health Service Executive are just some of the organisations benefiting from using SMS in their business communications and processes.

In these challenging times all organisations whether in the public or private sector need to examine their business processes for ways to generate the maximum efficiencies. SMS is clearly the most efficient way to interact with customers. It saves a lot of time in comparison to either phone calls or post – both of which cost more and the price of a text message.

Púca's 'Message Manager' application enables companies to easily manage 2-way SMS communications using self-service screens. Message Manager provides sophisticated reporting tools with the ability to capture and respond to inbound messages and to send and schedule targeted SMS messages.

Púca has a large number of customers using Message Manager for SMS communications with customers and staff:

UPC is using SMS in a number of ways including communicating internally, but also to remind customers that their invoices can be viewed online. This saves UPC the cost of printing and posting invoices.

A number of government agencies are also using SMS to communicate with customers, staff and potential employees.

HSE's recruitment department uses Púca's Message Manager for job alerts, appointment alerts and tracking of applications. It is also used to notify individuals of upcoming appointment times, with each individual receiving a personalised message

  • Saves a huge amount of personnel time and cost
  • No more bulk calling or postage of appointment letters
  • All messages can be saved and tracked

Teagasc is the agriculture and food development authority in Ireland. Using SMS to communicate with clients instead of phone calls or post, they are saving both time and money. They are getting time-critical and financial information out immediately. The system also sends out reminders such as alerts for meetings, walks and events.

Púca Message Manager also serves as a data collection tool – reply messages to certain inbound keywords can be stored and used by relevant business unit within Teagasc.

City of Dublin VEC integrated SMS into their web based student grant application system in order to keep students up to date on their applications through SMS. Students are now also notified by text message when their payment is due. This significantly improves turnover and cashflow. The speed with which SMS can be used to deliver communications messages are a key factor in the integration of SMS with emergency planning processes. Permanent TSB wanted a system where key emergency team members could be immediately informed during an emergency.

Púca's Message Manager enables both outbound and inbound text communications amongst emergency staff team members. In the case of a fire or other emergency, a text can quickly be sent to all Emergency Team members.
